As reported by us, Governor Gakuru perished in the accident that occurred on Tuesday, November 7, along the Thika Road. 39-year-old Samuel Kinyanjui Wanyaga said that he tried to avoid hitting a motorcycle rider when the car veered off the road and rammed into a guard rail.
Kinyanjui’s account rhymed with an eye witness who had claimed he saw a motorbike rider carrying meat drive into the vehicle’s path. The Benz rammed into a guard rail which ripped through it, apparently killing the governor. Gakuru died while receiving treatment at the Thika Level 4 Hospital and his body was transferred to the Lee Funeral Home in Nairob
